Ever since our first visit to Dent with thelatebay forum back in April 2013, we fell in love with the village and its surrounding area. Every year the village holds the Dent Beer and Music Festival, which we have been going to ever since. We also make the event the start of a week long road trip in Gusbus, this year was Dent to Keswick, down to Clitheroe and over to Camperjam.
The village is very friendly and welcoming to non locals, has a couple of good pubs serving very nice food and a decent pint of locally brewed beers. Margaret at High Laning Campsite is great, makes us feel welcome (http://www.highlaning.com/). Cannot wait to go back!
Keswick has been on our list of places to stay as neither of us has been to The Lake District before and having now stayed there, its a truly stunning place – we only touched the edge of it! The Keswick C & CC site is a n excellent base for the town and Derwentwater.
From Keswick we trundled down to Weston Park for Camperjam, stopping off in Clitheroe for the night. We didn’t get to see the town properly as the C & CC site is a distance away from town. Camperjam was beckoning, there was a lot of friends going and we couldn’t wait to get down to Camperjam and relax, catch up with everyone and have a laugh. We met up with Bern & Jenny, Nige and Kathy, Rob, Bek & the boys, Ian & Kathy, Alan & Tina and Bry, Shel n the boys.
The weather ended up great, really warm and sunny, company was equally as good, fantastic end to the weeks holiday!
