Hayfields is located in the Peak District to the north of Buxton. The first time we stayed was in October 2015 at the Hayfields Camping & Caravan Club site on the edge of town on the road up to Kinder Reservoir. We love the site, very well kept, clean, tidy and friendly.
Surrounded by scenery and within minutes you can be walking by the side of Kinder Reservoir:
With lots of walking around the area, Jacobs Ladder, Kinder Scout, the Pennine Way etc, you cannot go far wrong before you are heading along one of the many footpaths which pass through it all.
We followed on of the paths which we think headed up towards Jacobs Ladder, not pressing on too far as we wasn’t prepared with food, water or appropriate clothing. When the weather cools down, we want to walk up Kinder Scout. What we did find was a nice spot in the sun by the side of a lively little stream!
Very relaxing and peaceful!
Hayfields has a good selection of pubs which serve nice food and a decent pint; an excellent way to end the day!
Sat having breakfast and these two fella’s dropped by to give us a hand, they enjoyed some bread and wandered off next door to help them. Must have thought we’re all quackers :).
