Malham Cove & Goredale Scar; March 2012

One of the most scenic places we have been with thelatebay was in March 2012 when quite a large gathering headed up to Malham Cove and Goredale Scar Campsite. It was bloomin cold but as always, a good turn out!

Goredale Scar Campsite is located on the other side of Malham Village located right next to Goredale Scar itself with a gentle babbling brook running through it, as per Martin Dorey’s visit in One Man and his Campervan..stunning is the word that describes it!

From the campsite, you can head off along one of the many walks surrounding the area, the one we took was to Malham Cove and the rock formation overlooking the village. Luckily the weather was dry during the day, allowing us plenty of time to explore!

Malham itself is quite a small village, a couple of pubs, shop and stone built houses, its the scenery that attracts you, the great Yorkshire outdoors!

From the village, you can head south for a short way till you meet the River Aire and follow this back up, past Janets Foss until you get back to the campsite, fantastic walk!

What better way to end the weekend by having a party by the campfire; Black Tie, Tuxedo’ and Ball Gowns where the order of the day (night). All in all, it was a brilliant weekend away with a fantastic bunch!
