I mentioned previously about adding a section on Derbyshire, Bob said yes he would be interested so Our Derbyshire has begun with Hardwick Hall.
My plan is to add places of interest, towns and villages to the section and write short description including places close by which are worth camping at.
What’s not to like about the Derbyshire countryside; we are surrounded by it. My drive to work everyday is via Tansley and everyday I can see the view over Matlock onto the hills surrounding the town.
One of the places we had never been to is the Nine Ladies Stone Circle, so in April we had a walk from Birchover to the circle, the views on the walk up there are superb, looking out over Matlock, Darley Dale and Rowsley:
What’s great about having all of this on your doorstep is the fact that it constantly changes, the colour of the trees, flowers, always different.
We do take it for granted though!
Summer 2016 so far has been great weather wise and we’ve managed to get away regularly to places as near as Matlock, Edale, we’ve headed north to Dent and Keswick. Camperjam came and went and last weekend saw us head down to the Cotswolds.
We have plenty more weekends to come, don’t know where we will end up yet but we will head somewhere! Ill add content as and when.
What I don’t want to do is add every adventure on here but what I will do is add some of our favourite ones. Longer term I will go back in time, there is a lot to add, it will not be done quickly. I do hope to add a section with some of the campsites and links to their websites, contact details and addresses etc.
If I think about it, I might add a section for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire and the towns/villages local to us. Ill see!
