Welcome to the adventures of Dougie and where the road takes him when he joins us on our camping adventures. As I write this, on the 28th December, Dougie is exactly fifteen weeks old and has been out walking for the past three weeks. He loves getting out and about, enjoying saying hello to everyone and meeting other dogs.
Whats a more enjoyable thing for him to do than come camping with us! So, in reverse order.
June always see’s us head up to Dent for the Music and Beer Festival with a holiday afterwards, obviously Dougster would be coming with us for his first trip to the seaside! He loved the Music and made lots of friends down by the arena and up at The Sun Inn. We wandered down to the river for a paddle and to cool down.
He enjoyed himself and had a vanilla ice cream too!
He also loved the River Wharfe as it passes through Appletreewick where he did more paddling and more ice creams, we had walked four / five miles a day so he deserved a treat!
And off we went to the seaside, third stop Robin Hoods Bay to round off the week. I don’t think Dougie particularly liked the sea, he didn’t go in as much as we thought he would, too salty maybe. Who knows! He did have a great time on the beach but then he always has a good time!
All in all he had a great holiday, made lots of new friends along the way and came home one chilled our cockerpoo.
Easter 2019 and Dougie is just over 7 months old and is growing rather quickly and gets quirkier by the day, helping whenever he can, whether you need it or not. He helps Ellie with her homework, helps when you are surfing the internet or helps when I’m working on Major. We decided to head off to Reedness to a pub with camping, Dougie was eager to go:
He loved his first adventure, he packed his bed along with Bear, Croc and tree, he wanted them come with us. His first adventure was a success, he made new friends in the pub and on the campsite, he’s one happy chappy!
Christmas Eve was a nice day so we headed off to Rufford for a stroll to the lake and back, Dougie met lots of new friends and wet noses, he said hello to everyone he met and loved puddles, muddy puddles! He walked very good and was rewarded with treats!
Early December and Dougie’s first proper walk was around The Millers Pond at Hardwick Hall, not too far as he wasn’t used to being on his lead. He loved it and enjoyed snooting around in the fallen leaves, bouncing through the grass and duck poo. He liked duck poo.
